It isn't repeating the same action sets and hoping the slot of random chance plays better
If you're doing the same thing over and over instead of doing what you know you need to do for better outcomes then you are negotiating with comfort
Everything enjoyable comes with pain, whether that pain is discipline or disappointment is a personal preference

@Kloi good show! You're on the road to hiring crew to work all the contracts. How quickly you learn that's not all putting your feet on the desk while pocketing the entire spread between billable and employee hourly price.
This is a large, multi million dollar corporations I was working for.
Not some small, one off construction crew so I understand they have overhead I will never experience but fuck me man. Another reason I can't see myself in a "career" with a a good standing business around town.
@Kloi What a dick not to pay you fairly. I never charged anyone more than double what I paid the workers and then they were using my tools and fuel.
This was usually on jobs lasting a few hours when I had to drive out to quote for the work and do the admin of paying the men and billing the client.
Sometimes, when the work was regular and measured in days it was only 20% mark up with my tools included.
People like that give tradesmen a bad name. They create so much churn in employees and in clients that it effects the honest people.
Found out my previous employer was charging $180/hr on my labor while paying me $32/hr.
Quit my job a few months ago and recently secured one of his contracts unintentionally.
After cost, I'm averaging $95/hr on said job, a few times a year. So nothing I could live off of solely but if you've got the discipline, I can't recommend going into business for yourself enough.
